Cannot connect NANO RP2040 to Arduino Cloud

Hello,

I have NodeMCU's working well in the Arduino Cloud but cannot get any of the NANO RP2040's recently bought to connect. O/S is Windows and I can hear the USB ping connection, see the RP2040 connect as com port 6 then instantly drop off. I have changed cables and used the same cable used to connect other devices such as the NodeMCU's. I have tried three new RP2040's and all behave in the same way.

I have also tried via the IDE and upload success/failure are random, also hearing the familiar USB connect/disconnect pings.

I have restarted the PC and tried different USB ports. I have checked updates and reinstalled USB drivers.

I have followed the reset options from the following article with mixed success:

A factory reset enabled me to successfully upload a script but I can here and watch in the debug window as it disconnects and reconnects the USB device, after a few more tests Windows displays an error which is reported as code 43 in the device manager against the port where the RP2040 once connected.

I'm not sure where to go next, I'm not even sure its the RP2040 or the PC causing the issue. The PC spec is here http://speccy.piriform.com/results/WZoeECrrQJiEy1KFjg5nIdp

Can anyone suggest what I need to do?

Thanks!
