Color Detection and color intensity monitoring through light sensor

Hello, I want to give a try by using Light sensor which help me to check the fabric color schemes.
But as per checking with IC details I think RGB are most prior color we can check through this sensor,
as I am technician in fabric manufacturing industry and working with something this kind of criteria to monitor intensity of these color using electronic sensor is though advanced but tough for me also I am not good at code but want to give try with this , I am looking for some knowledgeable help about how can I able to use this sensor to implement solution in which I can check the intensity of colors which comes under right green blue only.

Your leads on this will be much helpful

Hi,
If you project is to be used for commercial use and to ensure product quality, then you would be best to invest in a commercially available unit.
There is more than just RGB analysis, you have to have a light source that does not change output spectrum with age and your detectors have to be very sensitive.

I'm not saying its not possible, but to provide a standard that industry needs is a very difficult job.
The device you have link would be a good start.
Just you need to provide a stable and measurable environment.

That sensor checks only the colour components of light going into it. To use it for what you want you have to supply your own broad spectrum light and exclude any ambient light as you know that the perceived colour of anything is dependent on the light. Not only that but it also depends on the colours next to it.

In this image the circles are all the same colour but look different.

Have you got it connected up to the Arduino yet?
