Connection problem with the ESP32 S2 Mini

Hello I am new to the forum, I am trying to create a remote controlled car with an ESP32 S2 Mini. It has holes instead of pins so I use the small pin strips to connect it to the breadboard so I can test my prototype before soldering it. But here's the problem: when the pins are firmly seated in the holes, the current doesn't flow at all, the ESP doesn't even get power. However, I know that everything works because when I remove it from the pins but only leave contact with the outer edge of the holes, it works! So I think it's the interior surface of the holes that doesn't let current pass. Please can you tell me if this is a common problem on this model? Or how I could solve this problem to continue testing without soldering?

I attach the ESP and the pin strips in question. Thanks in advance.
