Hello,
I just wanna ask if you have any idea on how to cover the BH1750 Light Intensity Sensor?
I mean, is there any thing to protect the sensor from water or any possible dirt?
Maybe you could use conformal coating for protection from dirt and high humidity.
Is it inside or outdoors?
If inside you could test different pieces of plastic over the sensor to see which will have the least effect.
You could look on ebay for "sealed" housings with clear covers. I would still conformal coat the board (masking off the sensor area) and add some desiccant in the enclosure to absorb any moisture that might condense.
For an easy to find coating, you can use GE II silicone sealant. It must be the "II" type which does not smell like vinegar when curing.
Try placing it in a plastic or glass container. Point the opening down and you should be good to go. You could put a conformal coating on it as suggested by herbschward before placing in the container.
If i put a glass or plastic, will it affect the data or value of light? or is there a specific type of glass or plastic for it?
Anything you put on it will affect the value of light received just recalibrate as all readings will have the same offset unless you are talking specific wavelengths
The sensors are not that accurate and sable. I do not know what you will use but if it is clear it may be almost impossible to detect but as pmagowan states calibrate with the glass. I recommend glass as it will be more stable over time.
