Dfplayer mini without arduino

I’m using a dfplayer mini without an arduino, is there a way to play 2 different sounds, one after another using 1 push button?

Sure. Here's a standalone circuit out of the manual. Leave out S1, S3 and S4, put your two sound files on an uSD card and you'd be good to go. Each time you press S2, the next file will play. In this case, first, second, first, second, etc., etc.

Each time you press S2

Short press S2 = next file.
Long press S2 = increase volume.
Short press S1 = previous file.
Long press S1 = decrease volume.
