Did I fry my Nano?

I was using a nano earlier today when I accidently connected a LED straight across it's power supply, at first this worked but soon I got a warning from computer than it was consuming too much power and now the device is no longer able to supply enough power to a fan or any other device.s

It can also no longer be detected by my laptop when I connected it even it''s LED turns on and using different power sources doesn't seem to have produced any effect.

It is more likely you burned out your USB connector on your computer.

Try another USB port if you have one free.

Or try shutting down your computer completely and after a few seconds rebooting it.

I've tried another usb connector and seem to be having the same problem, everything I try to power a fan from the power rails the led on the board shuts down and the fan is unable to move

Can you get the led blink program to work?

Forget the fan for the moment, it sounds like you shouldn't be powering that from the USB socket.

Hi,
If you just plug the Nano in, NO OTHER bits of hardware, does the power LED on the Nano light up?
If so can you load the "Blink without delay" example code to see if the on board D13 LED is working to show you have successfully uploaded and run code.

Do you have a DMM?

Thanks.. Tom... :+1: :coffee: :australia:
