Doorbell sound via EPS32

Hello,

I am building a small device i can place in every room of the house to measure temperature, lights etc. Another idea i have for this device is to make it as a doorbell as well, the device is going to have some leds so when someone pressed the doorbell knob, i can make the leds flash but it would also be great if every device made some "doorbell" sound.

For testing i found some 8ohm 0.5 watt speakers, but i am not sure if i can just connect this or if i need atleast an amplifier.

Also i am not sure if 0.5 watt would be enough to hear it somewhat loud in the room.

Has anyone an idea how to start this?

Thanks a lot

EPS32? Do you mean an ESP32 ?

Yes you need an amplifier - it might be simplest to use an MP3 player module with built-in amp, to
minimize your project BoM (bill of materials). For instance a DFPlayer might be suitable.
