Driving a DC water pump with Arduino

I have a DC water pump that I want to drive with Arduino, but I'm a bit lost in how to do it.

Here's the pump: http://www.amazon.com/12V-Brushless-Cooling-Water-pump/dp/B002PEBTVS

Sparkfun seems to have boards to do what I want:

or

I don't know which one I need. My pump can run up to 12V

I don't need anything too fancy, I just want the pump to turn and run at maximum speed for a minute or two once or twice a day. The scheduling part isn't a problem, I just need to figure out how to power this with Arduino.

Should I just buy one of the Sparkfun boards, or can I just make my own?

Thanks for your help.

can I just make my own?

You can.

Using relays is probably simplest, look at this:-
