driving muscle wire

I have a 3V system

and want to control some muscle wire about 150mA

Had found this http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tpic6b595.pdf

shift register plus fet driver would have been ideal

but it is a 5V chip

anyone any suggestions

Any switching BJT will handle 150mA, will work from any logic voltage (with the right base resistor).

For 150mA output use about 10mA of base drive, but it won't limit the current to 150mA, for that
you'll need something else, perhaps series power resistor, depending on the resitance of the wire.
