Dual power supply question

Hello,

I have a project that has 2 power supplies. One is a 12v supply and the other is a pc power supply with 24v (+12 to -12).

I am obviously going to have to common the grounds together, so my question is; Can I connect the -12v line to the ground of the other power supply to still get 24v out of the pc supply?

I don't think it will work but I just wanted to check.

Thanks

Ash

I am not trying to be smart or degrading:

Maybe, but if you have ask, then you shouldn't be trying it.

Just buy a 24 volt supply. It will be safer and cheaper in the long run.

Your reply was not very helpful, but thanks.

Whether you are doing this for a not-for-profit or a million dollar corporation, safety is still the first priority.

You are welcome.

Do you want to get +12V and +24V out as voltages?

If the supplies are isolated from each other, than connecting the -12V to Gnd and using its +12V as 24V could be doable.

Yes the supplies are isolated. Thanks for your reply. I will give it a try.
