Folks
There were threads about the odd 'token' string being appended to URLs that froze the forum (presented a blank browser window) when attempting to log on.
Lots of us did the F12 trick and cleared caches, etc...
Ultimately, I found disabling InPrivate mode worked.... so I've been fine ever since.
Today... while in InPrivate mode.... I simply navigated to the forum and logged in... completely successful... good response, no token appends, etc...
Kudos to you folks for fixing this issue (well for my particular configuration anyway)..
Windows 7 64bit Ultmate SP1, Internet Explorer 11.

The simple fact is, notwithstanding what browser is used, or what functions are configured or implemented in it, the appearance of the "token" suffix is an indication of some particularly stupid piece of coding in the forum software installation. The use, behaviour or configuration of any particular browser or other is simply irrelevant, nothing any user can do will have any actual effect.
There are no possible circumstances under which this should ever occur; the fact that it does indicates that there is a piece of software that desperately needs to be removed as it has been incompetently written. Whatever was in the minds at the time of those who wrote it, it was incompetence plain and simple, nothing more, nothing less. Sadly, it reflects poorly on whoever permits it to appear in a service such as this as it needs to be identified and removed; whatever module it is is responsible for the majority of all-too-frequent failures of this system and whilst interestingly less frequent, it now has "come back to bite us". and has not been exterminated in the "upgrade", effectively rendering the upgrade process rather futile overall.
