Maybe you have a bad installation, and the main programme can't find the parts bin.

If the purpose of this is so you can post the diagram on this Forum then don't waste your time. 99% of Fritzing diagrams that are posted here are useless.
Just make a simple pencil drawing and post a photo of the drawing. See this Simple Image Guide
I have used Fritzing myself to make a small PCB design.

I am using it for my own records to look back at later.

I thought about this, but how would you fix that?

It can't be that difficult. It doesn't show on W7 control panel, so you might just delete it, download again, and install. It would appear that you have at least one folder missing, maybe due to a dodgy download. I have five subdirectories under \Fritzing and appear to have your missing items in \fritzingparts\core.
Your intended use of Fritzing is fine, it's not a waste of time, and I don't think you should be dissuaded from posting them on this forum either. If you post a Fritzing that is useless, you would probably post a pencil and paper diagram that is also useless.
About the only problem I can see is using a specific component for something else, thereby perhaps confusing people who know what it really is. Adding some text fixes that.
Thanks, i just deleted the application and reinstalled it

I always imagine that anyone who is in any way computer savvy would do that before starting to ask for advice.

The thing is, it was not the first time i had tried reinstalling it.
