I just plugged my brand new Giga WiFi board into my PC’s USB-C port and it caused my computer to immediately power off. I tried plugging it into my MacBook as well and it says that the board is attempting to draw too much power. What gives? Is my board defective ?
Note: do NOT connect the USB-A connector to your computer. This is not a programming port and if the
PA15
pin is enabled, it can damage your computer's USB port.

I discovered the issue… I plugged the Giga display in from the topside of the Arduino rather than through the backside. That’s why it wouldn’t work at all afterwards. I plugged the usb-c port into a wall adapter (without the display attached) and the board powered on. After that, I haven’t had any more issues. I’m able to plug it in to PC and programs it without issues. Fortunately for me, I don’t think my mistake caused any permanent damage.
