Good source and brand of jumper wires?

I use a lot of this style jumper wire:

I have them from multiple sources, and the quality varies widely. I'd love to find a brand (and source for them) where the wires are somewhat thick for jumper wires, the sockets grip the header pins well, and grip other jumper wire pins.

Every now and again I buy a component that comes with a few jumper wires that are so much better than what I have, and I'd love to find a good source for them.

I don't imagine anyone has any recommendations?

I'm looking for male -> male, male -> female and female -> female.

Thanks for any help.

You might try your hand at making you own.

I've had the same issue. One thing that helps is adding a shroud over the loose pins to form a complete connector.

I use a lot of 0.6mm solid core hook up wire as this fits dupont headers and breadboards well and can be cut to whatever length you want, and is much neater on a crowded breadboard. 0.6mm solid copper is happy at several amps for short runs too, so will handle large currents for motors and so forth.

Of the pre-made hook up wires the best I've seen were sold by Maplin, but I don't know if they are still available - they had a decent thickness of copper in the wires, whereas many pre-mades are only good for signal, not power connections.

And actual copper ...

wrapping with thin wires is also a great solution. make sure you get the right tool
