GY-MCU8833 interface

I have a couple GY-MCU8833 sensors, but I cannot find any documentation describing how to use them. Maybe it just is not available in english? These are based on AMG8833 IR sensors, but use a serial interface (modbus according to chatgpt). Based on this article I can read the pixel outputs, but I cannot do much else (set the framerate, interrupt mode, send it to sleep). If anyone has worked with these things before, or has some kind of info, that would be greatly appreciated.

Why waste your time with an undocumented, possibly counterfeit sensor module?

Adafruit sells the real thing, with a tutorial and complete Arduino library to control it.

Because I already have the modules, so I might as well see if I can use them. But you are right, I will try not to waste too much time on them.
