'Hello World' displays incorrectly from Arduino Uno to GDM1602K LCD.

Hello All,

I'm currently trying to complete the Liquid Crystal 'Hello World' tutorial on this website.
I have everything hooked up and coded correctly using the LiquidCrystal -> HelloWorld example sketch.
As you can see from the attached pictures the screen is in fact NOT displaying "hello, world!".
I've rewired multiple times to make sure everything was correct but to no avail.
Any thoughts on what I could try?

p.s. My LCD is a Xiamen Ocular GDM1602K

You have soldered the header to the LCD board haven't you?

Ha! Woke up this morning and realized I hadn't done that. Thanks for jarring my memory.

Hey,
What happend ? How you fixed this problem ?
I have the same situation ....

Problem solved with some soldering.
