Help setting preferences correctly

Hello everybody.
I have a problem with the forum.
I don't know if it's my lack of knowledge or if it's really a problem with the forum.

A few days ago I wanted the "NEWS" not to show new language topics that I couldn't post or comment on, such as German, French, Italian, etc.

I thought that for this I should go to:
Preferences
.......... ---> +Tracking
................. ----> Categories
........................ ---> Muted
and selected the categories I didn't want to appear in "my" NEWs.

I did this by selecting some categories and languages.

But from that day on, topics in these languages started to appear every day in UNREAD, and mainly topics that were closed a long time ago.

Below is a screen with an example of what appears.

I went back to preferences and deleted all the selections I had made, but they continue to appear in "my" UNREAD
various topics in these languages.

Please help me to eliminate this problem and do the correct procedure to select only the topics in languages that I can comment or help. (English, Portuguese, Spanish).

I don't think it has anything to do with the changes that you made but that it is normal behaviour.

When the topic is closed after 6 month by the system, it will show up in "unread". It's highly annoying (my opinion) but I see it all the time.

I agree that it is very annoying, but before I made these changes, these "UNREADS" did not appear.

And they appear as "TRACKING".

I keep having this kind of problem when using the forum.

I noticed that all new "UNREAD" have the date "Activity" "Oct '22",
and that they are all from language categories that I don't have permission to post, and therefore I blocked them from receiving "UNREAD".

These unwanted "UNREADs" wouldn't appear before I tried to block the topics from the language categories I can't post.

I use the "Dismiss…" feature to clean it up, but every day it seems like a lot of new "UNREAD".

This is very irritating and annoying.

Can any forum Administrator help me to resolve these unwanted "UNREAD"?

I apologize if this is a gross user error.
