Help with running stepper motor with motor and power shield

I am pretty beginner with motors and I have been trying to run my stepper with motor and power shield that is connected to arduino with no success, only small steps and with weird pauses in between. Anybody can help with this? I am using 24v 2,5amp external power that should be enough.

That L298 shield is totally unsuitable. It's brushed DC motor shield, not a stepper motor shield. It can however be used to some extend for a high impedance hybrid stepper motor, but your motor is not. You need a DRV8825 or better. See the Pololu website.

Never post a sketch as a picture.

Your stepper and driver board don't fit together. You need a current controlling driver for your stepper.
