How im i supposed to make the pins of l298n facing downward?

As im designing my pcb, I relized there is no way the pins would make contatct.

Because the module (l298n) looks like that:

the pins are facing upwards. Does anyone know a website/place where they sell those parts pins to the bottom? Or like atleast what can i do to encounter this? the pins i need mostly to be facing downards are those:

(i tried my best to choose an appropriate subject)

I don't see what the problem is

Simply put the pins in from the bottom of the board and solder them. The holes will be plated through like vias

Is there a reason why you want to use that module and not one that would be much easier to use and be more efficient?

If you must use that module then you will have to unsolder those pins and re-solder to the bottom.

Can you give me some alternatives? I want one that can also control the speed just like the l298n.

I hear there is a great tool called Google that can answer your question.

Can the l298n mini control speed?

Is it a DC motor or a stepper motor?
Do you have two or one motor?

What current and voltage do you need for the motor?

It is 4 dc motors, I'm using a 5v motor that looks like that:

To power the motor driver I'm using 2 18650 batteries. Together they make around 8.4 volts and 3,000mah. It is alright for me to use 2 motor drivers. The motor driver is going to be controlled by an Arduino nano.

The L298n mini does not use the L298 IC, so I do not know.

This one is nice and small and cheap

I also see the DRV8833 on Amazon

It can. But I use it on smaller motors because of it's specs. It's also much less documented than the old L298 (datasheet is in chinese). I would go with @jim-p call (+1 to DRV8835).

Hi, @memind

What is your project?

Have you prototyped it?

Thanks... Tom... :+1: :coffee: :australia:

How do you control the speed on the l298n mini? It doesnt have ena or/and enb

My project is a auto driving car with 5 ultrasonic sr04 sensors. Im using 2 Arduino nanos. 1 for controlling the motors and 1 for autodriving. Im using the standard car chassis with 4 motors that power on around 3-5v. Im using 2 18650 batteries.
Its using an nrf24l01 to control the car. And the remote has a joystick,an arduino nano, and an nrf24l01. Im looking to convert my project to all pcb (with few wires). Because the car doesnt look nice and those cables disconnect alot. Ive been working on it for the past 2 years.

And at the end its just a 5v - 3v motor so it isnt a big deal. (4 motors with 2 motor drivers)

With peak currents over 1A

Something like this one?

c
And why should i use it and and not the l298n mini? Like what is the difference between them?

Hi, @memind

Have you got it working, can you control. the motors?
You are aware that you will loose 2V of the 5V supply across the 298?

The l298n mini has peak currents over 2.5A

Yes ofcourse. Everything is working perfectly fine. I just want to convert it to pcb. I know that in losing 2 - 3v. I im powering the l298n with around 8v using the 2 18650 batteries
