I would like to connect 2 motors 12v 100mA on a Motor Shield(L293D) with a Mega 2560 R3.
In attachment you can see a picture about how I want to connect it.
Is it way I should do it if I want to get 12v in the motors or does i need to use some relais?
Is it possible to connect directly Mega 2560 on 12V ?
well I did, but i don't want to burn out my arduino. that's why i'm asking...
if I check following link:
I understood that you have to put out the jumper of the motorshield and connect 12v for feeding only the motorshield and the motor.
The scheme I draw it's what I understood from the manufacturer explanation, but sometimes I'm just next of it..
Well I 'll try and hope it'll not explode...
Thanks.
the motor shield uses 5v from arduino to drive the logic circuit of the shield then you remove that jumper to feed a separate 12 volt to drive the motors only ground is common the shield isolates the arduino from the motor supply protecting it. you never want to use arduino 5 volts to supply any motor even if you have 5v motors use a separate higher current 5v supply or 24 etc within the limit of the driver used you can get 36 48 etc volt drivers remove the jumper
