How to find the ground pin of a RGB led?

I have a RGB LED, I want to use it for a project, but i am unable to find the ground pin to attach it to arduino. All the pins of the rgb led are of same size. Is there any way to find out? Or i have to buy a new one?

Hi,
Do you have a DMM that has DIODE TEST position?

RGB LEDs can be type Common Anode or Common Cathode.

With a 220 Ω resistor in series with a 5V power supply,
Try different connections until you find one (1) pin that is common with the other three (3) pins.

You may have to reverse your wires depending on the type of LED you have.

Thanks a million for sending this diagram!
I found the gnd pin by looking at the diagram

As you may have seen, the GND pin is usually the largest inside the LED (at least with common cathodes).

Hi,

Is it common Anode or common Cathode?

Did yours arrive new like this @shloak or has someone trimmed the leads to be the same?
