how to identify a "true" Arduino Mega R3 ---

Here in the web in the pictures we can not read R3, are the pictures of a "real" Mega R3

Pictures in the oficial web:

However I have seen another desing of the back side where we can read this information:

the pictures here belong to an R3 (altough we can no read R3) ???

the other link belong to a "true" R3 ?????

Why are they differents ???

Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

You are right, the picture of the official Arduino is actually a "R3" version, but that is not written on the back in that photo. Perhaps the pictures should be updated. I think the newest version have on the back the text : "BOARD MODEL MEGA 2560 R3".

The pictures at electronicaembajadores.com seems to be the official Arduino Mega 2560 board.
If it is in the Arduino cardboard box, then I think it is an official one.
There are a few different official versions, with different shapes of the white on the back.

Something funny is going on...

The main tilted picture on the left is a 'R2' version, but the smaller pictures that are the 'R3' version. That means the the picture of the back side is the 'R3', but that is not the backside of the main tilted picture.

Clones often have different PCB layouts and some pins may be different but in general, only authorized Arduino distributors sell "Genuine" Arduino products.

Arduino Mega 2560 rev 03 - Original - A000067

Two more question:

1 - So, there is official Mega R3 which not have writen R3 ????? Like the picture here ???

2 - How can I know it is a Revision 3 if it is not writen R3?? Could have I buying and older revisión????

The question is that I have bought and oficial Mega R3.... but how I can not see "R3" in the board, I am not sure it was a REvision 3......

And the last curiosity, how you know that de main picture belong to a R2 and the smallest ones belong to a R3 at electronicaembajadores.com (talking about front side I mean)

here are some pics of an official one I've just ordered from RS components.
note the silkscreen text on the 0.1" female connectors
they seems to be the same as the pictures available here

if that can help

the information about mega2560 are up to date on arduino.CC but not for the nano where it's the arduino.org website who have the updated data about it.
I don't know how they work to update their websites specs.

The rev3 boards have the scl and sda pins next to aref. (near the USB connector.). Earliers revs don't have those pins.
