How to remove IR filter on OV2640 Mini CCM?

So I found an old ESP32CAM in my endless set of drawers. I had an idea to set it up as a nighttime monitoring station for my hamster. I got the web server working and all I need to do is remove the IR filter from the lens to have "night vision".

Problem is, I have a weird OV2640 Mini CCM camera, or something of the like (see picture). I've taken the lens off, but I can't see the IR filter anywhere! It's not on the back of the lens, like most tutorials I've seen, and I don't see any red tint on the front either, as described in this post.

I can see a little red tint on the sensor, but I think that's just the bayer filter. Does anyone know where and how I can remove the IR filter?

Thank you!

How do you know it has an IR filter?

IR filter is pale blue, in my experience.

Back of the lens?

According to this datasheet, it has a "Integral 650 IR filter", and the light from an IR led shows up very dim through the camera.

Don't see one...

Here's what it looks like on a different OV2640 model.

Hi,

Sounds as if you have different version. The red filter is clearly visible on the lens front on the model I bought.

I’ve had other modules with the filter cemented onto the front of the sensor. You can usually prize it off with a jewellers screwdriver!

Careful now....You don't what to damage the sensor.
