How to trigger webcam to take photo and save to pc with arduino?

Hie all i am trying to get/find a camera that can be activated by sending a digital signal to from the arduino pins to a camera to trigger it and take a photo and save it to a pc/tablet device? The OV7670 only saves it to sd card. unfortunately. The project requires that i view the image before taking it.

The idea was to view the feed live, make adjustments to the object and then i press a button on the arduino and then it snaps a photo by sending a signal to the camera. Any ideas? Thank you

Why can't you reach the PC's keyboard to press the 'take photo' button in some convenient webcam software?

Expanding on that, if you want a small walkaround button, maybe even wireless; program up a Micro or Teensy to act as a keyboard and send the keypress.

Probably the easiest solution of them all IMO...

you could even pair it up with a bluetooth module (although then your making a transmitter -AND- receiver at that point)

but code wise it would pretty straight forward.
