Hello everyone i have a project for a class im taking and it is a robot car that follows a black tape and it is supposed to see the black tape using LDR sensor , there are 3 LDR sensor in a line and the one in the middle supposed to see the black tape and turn the right and left wheel at the same speed to make it go forward and if the right sensor sees the black tape it is supposed to turn right and so on for the third sensor, so my problem is that i can never seem to make the LDRs make difference between the white and black color of the tape(the floor is white and the black tape is middle of the path), I used a voltage divider with various resistance values to make the LDR sensor sensitive to the black color, so what is wrong and what should i do to make it work, please help the project is due in 6 days!!!

My suggestion is to plagiarize something already working:
it is an 5mm LDR sensor and the problem have nothing to do with code
I agree, no part numbers, no links to data sheets, no code posted? I haven't a clue what could be wrong. I also doubt anyone else will. The forums have a procedure to get good help and I suggest you read it. Everything is outlined for you.

That is OK. However to get the help you want you need to share exactly in detail what you have. You defined the project but we have no idea what parts you are using or what the circuit looks like. This is where part numbers and links to data sheets go a long way as well as a readable schematic of what you have done and the code you have written.

If you want it finished in time, you should share code, wiring diagram, photograph of setup, specification of items used, we do not have a crystal ball..
I´ve a crystal ball, but the ball is in the dish washer yet.
How is your connection diagram?
You cannot wash them in a dishwasher!
They need to be carassed with a woolen cloth!

An image of a hand drawn schematic will be fine, include ALL power supplies, component names and pin labels.
