I need to go from 5v to 12v to run my DC motor both directions (forward and backwards). What will work best?

Right now I push one button and my motor is suppose to go forward and another button and the motor is suppose to go backwards. Motor 1 is getting signal from M1 and Motor 2 is getting signal from M2.

Pictures below show controller and receiver board as well as the tracks there are 2 motors per side but we are running them as one motor per side.

The use of an electronic schematic is universally used to convey information relating to something electrical or electronic. I was hoping to see one in one of your images, but disappointed. A schematic just might show where your problem is located.

Hi,
By the looks of the images, you have purchased or are following a set of instructions.
Can you post a link to those instructions please?
Especially the receiver board.

Can you tell us your electronics, programming, arduino, hardware experience?
