Guys im making a school project on water pump which js using 5v dc and arduino nano.Also it will be connected to 16x2 display,Soil moisture sensor and dht 11 temp sensor

Can i work with transistors.If there are any tell me.Also I currently have a BC547 and BC 557.I researched a lot on transistors and found on a reply on arduino forum only.It says that the transistor is not enough.However he is using 12v.The link to that reply is here by wvmarle.

Ukhelibob also says that 350mA is not provided by Arduino and relay/transistor/MOSFET(I dont know whats this!).See this on this link.(I still havent got my answer)

It all depends on the maximum current that the motor draws. From the BC546..BC550 datasheet (absolute maximum ratings)

You're better off using a logic level mosfet (e.g. IRL520 or FQP30N06L); wiring example Gammon Forum : Electronics : Microprocessors : Driving motors, lights, etc. from an Arduino output pin.

You must first know how much current you pump needs.
Then you can select a transistor that can handle that current..

Wow! that much power means quite a bit of current! An Ampere, perhaps.

Better use a good relay!

I suggest that you verify that with the seller, specifically because they show it with a crappy 9V battery that will probably be depleted in a few seconds.

Note that that's 20 Amp at 5V.

Well I have to agree with @sterretje the 0.1kW rating is questionable. Also it make no sense to sell it with a 9V battery if it is a 3-6V motor. You will have to measure the actual current when you get the pump

And thise small black ones are not gonna last long with that pump...
Very simple mosfet should do.

One day you will learn how to know if the seller is trying to cheat you. Until then, ask the forum before you give a seller your money.

Come on Paul, that wasn't necessary. A 1st time poster, appears to be a young student? No need to be so negative. He'll learn just as we did, by making mistakes.

Hell, back in '76 I was so gullible I thought I bought my 1st new truck. It took me 2 months to realize I actually signed a 2 year lease contact. I'm still butt-sore about that 50 years later.
