IDE 2.2.1 installing Arduino-CLI makes output window disappear

In researching some other problems, I installed the arduino-cli. Once I did this, the output window went away in the IDE. I'm assuming that's because the CLI takes the place of it. Uninstalling the CLI did not bring the output window back. How do I bring this window back, or use the CLI to view the output?

  • Note - I did a complete uninstall / reinstall and it came back, but that seems a bit drastic.

Please provide a detailed description of what you did you install arduino-cli. If you followed instructions you found somewhere on the Internet, you can provide a link to those instructions.

Installing Arduino CLI should not have any effect on Arduino IDE. I have both installed on all my computers and use both of them constantly, often even at the same time.

I have since figured out my problems and they were due to computer configuration, not anything Arduino related.
