IDE hangs on startup: fixed by installing on a new user account

So something strange happened after I uninstalled IDE 1 which is that suddenly, 2.0 beta stopped opening up. I'm not sure if there was anything else that happened but basically, it's a new Windows 11 computer and I started by downloading the original IDE first and then deciding to try out 2.0. It opened once but then after uninstalling the original Arduino 1.8 IDE, 2.0 stopped opening.

I've re-installed the application but the same thing happens.. a "breathing" logo splash icon for Arduino just hangs forever and the IDE never finally opens

It would also appear that installing 2.0 on a new windows user profile worked. Kind of a bummer though, as I might have to continue working with a brand new user profile and bring over all my settings and whatnot.

Okay looks like I fixed the issue.

Something happened to where the IDE could not identify the sketchbook location. So installing it on a new user account allowed me to change it whereas the original windows account did not after I kept trying to install, uninstall and reinstalling 2.0.

I'm glad you were able to get it working @ramenoodl3s. Thanks for taking the time to post an update with your solution!
