Hey all,
First of all a happy newyear! My best wishes for 2014!
Untill now I have no experience with IMU or other accelerometer sensors. So before I start buying stuff I'd like to know if a typical IMU is capable of measuring displacements in the range of 0-5cm (up to 10 cm) with an accuracy of 1-2 mm? And this only during 40 s. After the 40 s, it's save to reset the position to 0.
I need to measure the displacement of some components under high tension (3kV) and in a place very difficult to reach. I was thinking of an IMU as sensor with a base station nearby (easier to reach and not under 3kV). Communication by XBEE.
Thanks!
