Installing Arduino Uno R3 Plus

As stated in the title, I'm trying to install my Arduino Uno. When I go to update the FT232R USB UART Driver i go to: Browse -> Arduino -> Drivers, it will run into an error saying that Windows encountered a problem.

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
USB Serial Converter
The hash file is not present in the specified catalogue file."

I tried reinstalling Arduino, but i get the same error every time. What can i do to fix this, and install my Arduino?

Also I'm using Windows 10 64 bit if that makes any difference.

In the included Tutorial book, it says that it does:

"If you're using an OSEPP board or any Arduino board with an FTDI chip you're going to need to install the FTDI Virtual COM port driver."

Which i went step by step and did. But even if i didn't, my computer still won't detect the Arduino as a COM port.
