Hello,
I would like to know if there is a way to interface an iris scanner to Arduino Mega 2560. I have no idea on how to accomplish this.
Objective: I want to scan the iris and perform operations like validation, upload and download of iris prints... And I also would like to know what model and kind of iris scanner should i use... Is this feasible??? Can someone help me???
That would involve image processing. Arduinos are NOT the tool for the job. Their lack of memory makes this practically impossible.
Depends totally on the IRIS-scanner used. I do not know one, but have seen several fingerprint scanners with a build in recognition engine that has digital IO lines for "start read" "stop read" "learn" "recognized etc.
Think for IRIS scanners similar modules exist but as these are not commodity yet like FP scanners, their price will be rather HIGH, or very HIGH.
Think it is time for you to hunt for datasheets of iris scanners.
Be aware of the safety of these kind of products. If you build them into your project you can be hold liable for damage on someones eyes.
Alright, thanks for your views! Now i am officially screwed up! I have submitted a project title on e-voting which is a voting system that validates both fingerprint and iris!!! Based on your ideas, i think this is totally IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Any alternative solutions guys???
