KY-038 Microphone Sound Sensor Module

I would like to use an Arduino to detect the sound emitted by a buzzer. I have attempted to do so using the KY-038 sound sensor, but it hasn't proven to be very effective. The sensor can detect loud sounds, but it struggles to pick up the sound produced by the buzzer. I've tried adjusting the sensitivity level, but it hasn't yielded satisfactory results.

Is there any recommendation for a different sound sensor with higher precision that is better suited for measuring the sound produced by a buzzer?

The KY-038 does not have an amplifier stage. The trim pot that adjusts "sensitivity" adjusts the level at which the onboard LM393 comparator will swing to HIGH.

You could try the Adafruit MAX9814 Breakout board.
