It has simple serial communication with a peculiar signal level (2.85V) that needs to be converted from arduino's 5V or 3.3V
If it works with a PC should work with arduino too.
Communication:
Uart: 19200, 8N1
Send command of “O”: turn on the laser
Send command of “C”: turn off the laser
Send command of “D”: measure distance and return the results
Send command of “S”: return the module temperature and supply volta
Seems straightforward enough, other than the 2.85V to 5V/3.3V conversion, as blimpyway says.
For $100 you get a part of what's in a $30 laser rangefinder? Wow. What a deal.
Where'd you find a $30 laser rangefinder?
Cheapest I've seen is $50, without external user interface (just visual)
I use a longer distance one similar to this.
