Making a new powerbutton for my speaker

Hi guys,

I am looking for a way to make this work. I broke off my powerbutton on my Marshall speaker and i want to replace it with a simpel button that comes with the Arduino kit. Now i have a button but i have no clue if i can just replace in on the pcb itself or do i need to make my own. As you can tell i am a beginner with this but i really want to fix my speaker so i can turn it on.

This has nothing in common with Arduino controller programming, or running.

I know that but if you read my first message i want to make something with a Arduino kit to solve my problem.

Buttons are usually momentary, so the amp will only stay on when you keep pushing the switch.
You need an on/off (toggle) switch, connected to the two black wires.

I think you are in a better place in the Marshall Forum.

Can i use something like this?

Yes, if you don't mind pushing it all the time.
The moment you stop pushing, the amp stops working.

Just solder the two pins of the connector on the board together.
That will make your amp work all the time.
Get a SPST toggle switch when you can, and finish the job properly.

Using a button.....

The broken switch looks as though it was a toggle switch, with two positions - off and on.

I don't know what the push button with the Arduino kit is like, but generally they are only "on" when pressed.

If you used such a button, then your speaker would only be on whilst you had your finger on the button.
Cleary that is unsatisfactory.

I suggest you buy another switch which is closer to the original type.

ah no i need it to stay on. Your right any suggestions on what kind of button i need?

yeah i have asked marshall but they do not replace pcbs or dont advice to mess with the system. any suggestion on what kind of button works in this situation?

the question have been answered in post #4

Google "spst toggle", and go to images.
ALL of them are electrically suitable.
It's up to you which one you can actually fit.

Ah yeah i see what you mean thank you!

Now if i get this switch where do i connect it to? on the board of the amp or the pcb where the original button was?

The switch just shorts the two black wires.
Up to you how you do that.
