Mess with top bar on homepage preventing login

As usual, a picture is worth 1000 words.

The "Categories" hotspot covers the "login" hotspot (Firefox browser / Windows10 )
To login in the meantime use this URL:

same here on my Mac

just posted that too
https://forum.arduino.cc/t/forum-web-site-layout-issue/1033296

Things are different when you scroll, too.

Stuff's been moved around...

I'm on windows, I doubt it's a OS issue.

It looks like there was a recent update to the Discourse forum software. From the page source:

<meta name="generator" content="Discourse 2.9.0.beta9 - https://github.com/discourse/discourse version 754ad4234493fa3af84517e8f1ed99a88ffd3171">

And that 754ad42 revision we are now at is from only 4 hours ago:

(note this doesn't mean that specific commit was the cause of the layout change, but only that it is the most recent of the commits in the codebase of Discourse currently in use by the forum)

this is what I see this morning as the top bar of the forum on my Mac

tried to remove cookies and reload, logout and back in (which was difficult because the connect button is hidden behind other text) but no change

Confirm the same in the Firefox on Fedora35 linux

Addition - the same issue while browsing the forum from the Android phone

yeah it's broken too on iOS

Seems all platforms are impacted, it's weird a professional engineer would put something live without testing...

did the trainee strike again??

there is another post discussing the issue

Mess with top bar on homepage preventing login

so I'll close this one and merge with the other

Just confirming that I notice that mess as well. It was OK a few hours ago.

Firefox, Win10

Not the only glitch. Look at the topic subject when scrolling down:

If I set the page zoom to 90% it starts to be mode decent/readable:

I need to set it up to 75% to be able to read the title:

I suppose it has something to do with ".extra-info-wrapper" CSS header class, but I don't have enough time to investigate that....

PS: it doesn't have anything to do with local browser and/or OS...

When scroll down you see on top...

Can't access forum profile nor notifications on brave mobile.

It should be fixed now.

@pert the problem was introduced by this commit where we changed the display property of the header for the new sidebar we are implementing in the core instead of as a standalone plugin.

EDIT: Your custom header theme has been fixed, but probably we will revert the change for the other sites as well, thanks for the report.

I no longer have Brave on my smartphone, can you check if it works after a page refresh?

I think you fixed it (just by hiding that floating menu and enlarging the thread title).
Thanks! :+1:

Sure does, thanks a bunch

here automatic, no manual refresh.

Moment...

The part disappears completely.

Can this be solved via the width or position of the frames?
