Midi connection from UNO to Audio interface not working

Hey!

Im currently working on my first arduino project, and that first project is essentially just a midi controller.
As the title states, I'm having issues with my midi connection between a Behringer (audio interface) and the UNO. The 4th pin in the midi connecter is on the 5v, and the 2nd pin is placed on the tx1. The 3rd is on ground. Yesterday i had a breakthrough. Having redone the entire soldering of buttons and the midi connection, i by mistake placed the midi in output on the Behringer, which shut down the UNO. The first visible connection between the UNO and Behringer. I then placed the the midi in the "in" input on the Behringer. Now i even got a visible reaction on my pc in MIDI OX. I then pulled out the midi pins from the arduino to make it more sturdy. Since then i haven't been able to make it work. I've troubleshooted by buying a second arduino UNO, connected the midi from the UNO directly to the pc, with a midi to usb cable, but still nothing works.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Or does anyone of you have any other ideas for finding the trouble? i see no other option, than to try the only thing that seemed to work, redoing the entire soldering process, including the nine buttons. (these are placed on the digital pins from 2-11 and all grounded together)

Hope you can help, thx

Mistakes like this can damage port pins. You will have to write some test code to test the arduino pin(s) to see if you can read and write to them. I would put the MIDI project on the back burner for a while and get comfortable with soldering etc first, mistooks can damage expensive equipment. It would be advisable to get the second UNO, maybe 2 as once the MIDI thing works you will have none to experiment with.

Counting pin numbers on a connector is hard to interpret, are you looking at the front or the back? Which direction are ou counting in? Post a schematic or a link to technical information on the hardware parts.

Totally agree with the point about taking the time to learn understand soldering etc. but im just to damn eager.
Ive posted scheme im following.

I believe you started to crawl before you started to walk when you were born, this is similar in some respects but you already have some shoes. Being eager is good but it can get expensive. You will have to decide to spend the time learning or spend the time earning money to buy parts. The most important part is to have fun! For soldering it is not to hard but you need the correct tools, such as a temperature controlled iron, the others will just be a problem. The temperature will change depending on the solder you pick.
