Hi all. This is my 1st post so please be gentle ![]()
I have purchased a 2.8 Touch LCD Shield from Maplin (N10DP) and I have issues setting it up. The product I have purchased is http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/touch-screen-shield-for-arduino-n10dp
The issue is that following the steps on the manufacturer's wiki I am not able to get anything other than the white background on the the display. The code compiles fine and gets uploaded to the Arduino Uno fine, but nothing happens other than the brightness varies sometimes and some random flickers or every now and then a random line.
The closest I got to getting it working was with these (https://s3.amazonaws.com/linksprite/Shields/touch_LCD_shield/Touch_LCD_libraries.zip). I deleted the TFT folder that I had in the Library and replaced it with the new one, same for the TouchScreen, restarted Arduino (running the latest 1.6.3), loaded and compiled several examples from the directory and still no joy. I get further with this library as the Paint Example loaded almost OK (the colour picker boxes were not all equal in size) but when attempting to paint, after few lines the screen went all white again and nothing since.
Other examples you can see that something is happening as the screen flickers and dull lines do appear every so often but not actually displaying anything.
I have posted this video to show what is happening as it is easier than explaining.
The arduino and the shield are brand new but I suppose DOA units are possible. Unfortunately I do not have a 2nd arduino to test the shield on and I do not have a 2nd shield to test the arduino.
Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated as Maplin's support is terrible (1 week and still waiting for an answer) and I am loosing the hope ![]()
PS: I have tried several some other libraries as well with no success. (Propeller, Seeed Studio, Adafruit, Smoke And wires etc)
Thank you
Cal
