MKR1000 does not connect to ATT wifi router 3801HGV

Hello all,

I am using the wifi example here to test the WIFI connection and entered the correct password and SSID but it does not connect to my ATT wifi router model 3801HGV.

WiFi.begin(ssid, pass) return code = 6

Does anyone have similar experiences, any suggestions?

I got an AirportExpress wifi base station and that works without any problem. So it seems there is an issue with the ATT wifi router...
