MPU6050 (GY-521) alternative with better sensitivity

Hi!

Is there alternatives of MPU6050-accelerometer for using with Arduino? More sensitivity is needed (0,001 g and better).

Thanks!

have a look at the ADXL362 or LIS3DH

Thanks!

Is it tested for precision?

I am seeking for low-price solution for building oscillations identification.

You can consider LSM6DSOX https://www.st.com/en/mems-and-sensors/lsm6dsox.html

details in the LIS3DH datasheet and ADXL362 datasheet

Thanks for links! It seems that these sensors have comparable to MPU6050 sensitivity.

The MPU6050 is known to have higher noise levels compared to the ADXL362 and LIS3DH, which can affect its precision, particularly in applications focused solely on accelerometer performance.

from top of my head the MPU6050 was around 400 µg/√Hz, the ADXL362 is at 175 µg/√Hz and LIS3DH is ~100 µg/√Hz

Noise density (measured in µg/√Hz) helps to understand how much noise (random fluctuations in the output) will be present when measuring acceleration. A lower value of noise density means a better sensor precision, as it indicates less noise in the measurements for a given bandwidth.

May be it's not good enough for what you are looking for

Probably I will try with this sensor. Alternatively in future I will consider a ICP-type piezoelectric sensors with external power and high precision output voltage readings.
