MPU6050

Hey,

Im having issues with GY-521 (MPU6050). I have set it up using the libraries in Arduino Playground - MPU-6050 but when I try running the example sketch MPU6050_DMP6 the serial monitor reads "initializing I2C devices" but never moves any further. When I try using the I2C scanner sketch at Arduino Playground - I2cScanner the serial monitor doesn't read anything. I have all the pins set up the way all the sample circuits have them. Not sure what else to do?

Thanks for your help!

Can you post of photo of your wiring?

When the I2C bus halts the sketch, often the SDA or SCL are shortcut to each other or one of them is shortcut to GND.

Im using the standard pin-out

VCC --> 5v (i'v been told that 3.3 or 5 works as there is a regulator on the chip)
GND--> GND
SCL --> A5
SDA --> A4
XDA & XCL --> Not Used
AD0 --> GND
INT -->Digital pin 2

Could it be possible that the version of Arduio i'm running (1.0.5) or the board (Blend Micro) is the issue?

This Blend Micro ? http://redbearlab.com/blendmicro/
That is an Arduino Leonardo / Micro compatible board.

For the Arduino Uno, the SDA is at A4 and the SCL is at A5. It is different for the Micro.
Read here : https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoBoardMicro
It says : TWI: 2 (SDA) and 3 (SCL). Support TWI communication using the Wire library.

You can read that as well on the BlendMicro page (scroll down to the bottom).

Try again and let us know if it works.

This works! Thanks for your help, this is my first attempt at building anything with arduino.
