New to Stepper motor control

Hi I am new to the forum.

One of my biggest fears joining a new site is to repeat something that had been discussed add infinitum already. I am new to the site and I am most definitely new to the Arduino environment. I am however an old timer in a world where I still see new solutions for technical problems every day. To attempt to solve some of these issues identified, I am turning to Arduino as a platform where I can conceptualize and proof to solution. I hope some of you can point me in the right direction.

I am building a calibration jig for the machines we use at the company I work for. I aim to utilize my Arduino in the same way a simple 3D printer initialize for a new print. That motion where the hot-end is moved to a starting point using a switch and directional stepper control software will cover my entire requirement. I am not a programmer and and to start building a round wheel from scratch sounds a bit silly to me, but I am open to the forum's advisement.

Hi @lbkloppers
