First, as a New member, let me say hello to all . . . Hello.
I also have a question, and hoping someone can help me, and yes somewhat New to the Arduino and building circuits etal.
I am in Brampton Ontario, and was wondering if anyone knows of a reliable place to purchase electronic components etc, other than online? (re: resistors, IC's, wire supplies etc etc)
If you are doing basic projects, and don't need many parts, I recommend going to Radio Shack. Sometimes, the parts can be pricey, but they are high quality. I know you said that you didn't want to go online and order, but when you can't find a part at Radio Shack, go to Mouser Electronics. Here is a link:
Appreciate the info Zack . . problem is, I went to a couple around here, now 'The Source' . . and they had like 2 led's, 3 transistors, couple bread boards and 20 soldering irons . . .(exaggerating I know, but almost seemed like it) . . .
..guess I was hoping there might be a Electronic Hobbyist store in Brampton . . didn't really get a hit searchin online for such a place in Brampton . . . either way, I appreciate the help Zack.
I'm looking forward to checkin out my Arduino and learning New things . . just came in the mail today (woot . . lol)

It depends on the local store. Here in Massachusetts, USA most Shack's I've been in have a big filing cabinet in the back of the store that has all of the discrete components. Some clerks are knowledgeable about the contents, some just want to sell you a new cell phone. Lets see, I've bought leds, button/switches, 3 and 4 element phono cables, resistors, etc. from those cabinets. Now, in terms of Arduino shields, etc. the pickings do tend to be on the slim side, though my local Shack has increased their supply.
