No support for Tiny85 after all this time

Is there a reason for not incorporating AtTiny chips into the Arduino IDE? After a long time of not using the IDE, I loaded it again to use the Tiny85 for a project, and I found that it is not in board manager, and I still have to load an old version of the IDE to get it to work.

It can't be too hard to do that for any of the people behind writing the IDE, so is it a personal thing that you don't want to support the tiny chips?

In fact, there is official support for the ATtiny85 via the Arduino Gemma board. However, I would instead recommend you to use the excellent ATTinyCore, which can indeed be installed via Boards Manager:
