Only white boxes on my lcd

Ive connected up my lcd on my arduino however only white boxes appear (note: i did glue over my solder job to make sire nothing came undone)

From my experience having only ONE row of white boxes means the address for the lcd control is not correct. There is a scanner program in the IDE list of sample programs that will scan the lcd and tell you the correct address.

  • Did you properly solder the LCD wires ?

The LCD is getting power but fails to initialize.

Please provide your code and a wiring diagram.

Also typically there is no need to hot glue after soldering. Please check the connections for continuity.

I fixed it by resoldering a loose wire connection

I fixed my issue by resoldering a couple loose wires

If you ever came back to read this thread, be advised that glue or RTV should only be used on to hold wires from flexing and breaking, not to cover solder joints!
