PLX-DAQ Error when using Windows 7 64 bit and Office 2013

I have seen several posts on this but haven't found where anyone has ever solved it. When I open the Excel PLX-DAQ spreadsheet/macro I get the error: "Can't load object because it isn't loaded on this machine" I have the macro security disabled in Excel. When I open the Excel macro debug window it is pointing to the Stamp.Disconnect line in the Private Sub cboPort_Click() sub. I do have the basic stamp editor installed and am able to see data coming in on the debug utility.

It appears to be a compatibility problem with either Windows 7 64 bit or Excel 2013 or both. Or it was only designed to use with the Stamp boards. However I do see people successfully using it with Arduino. Maybe they are using a different version.

Please help, Looks like just what I need.

I can't see Windows being the problem but Excel is. You need to upgrade to Office 2000. Anything you are doing with Basic Stamp is just adding to the confusion. While PLX don't specifically support Arduino, this means no more than that they don't bother talking about it, and it is just a matter of Arduino sending the data that Excel wants to see.

You need to upgrade to Office 2000.

From the 2013 version?

The PLX-DAQ addin is not compatible with Office 2013.

From the 2013 version?

Yes.

The PLX-DAQ addin is not compatible with Office 2013.

Correct, hence my point. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough for you on this. I am actually using 2003 at the moment, I believe 2007 will suffice, but I'm not sure.

Hey there,

don't want to grave dig but the PLX DAQ 424 error got solved with version 2 of the software.

It can be found here on the forum ==> PLX-DAQ version 2 - now with 64 bit support! (and further new features) - Interfacing w/ Software on the Computer - Arduino Forum <==

I posted to this old thread as it is one of the highest ranked threads on Google and lots of people might look for a solution here. Once again, sorry for grave digging....

P.S.: it actually was an issue with 64 bit versions of Excel. PLX DAQ v1 is not compatible with those (v2 is ! )

Greetings
