I have made a project for the YUN board that works perfectly when I power it from the USP connection. I am trying to power the board with a 5v regulator + to pin VIN and – to pin GRN. I have used this 5v regulator for many Arduino projects and it puts out exactly 5v. When powered with the VIN and GRN pins the YUN board doesn’t seem to load correctly. Many of the LED including the blue LED are illuminated and it doesn’t show up on the wireless network.
My question: Is there something different that I must do to use the YUN powered by the VIN and GRN pins?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
There should be no different settings needed, I myself use the yun through an external regulated 5 volts hooked up on the Vin and GND.
Have you identified if it is only the wireless that is not functioning or the board as a whole? - when powered on the Vin and GND, are you able to run any other projects like the blink example? If yes, that would suggest that the wireless (the Linuino and/or the Bridge) is where you should look further.
