Hello,
I can't manage to power my arduino project with a 9V battery even tho it works fine via usb.
I'll atach a picture of it so you guys will maybe have a better understanding and an easier time telling me if the battery is just not enough.
THE MOTOR IN THE WINDTURBINE IS BEING USED AS A GENERATOR, I'm powering 3LED's and a 7-segment display
(I know the wiring looks bad)
if it turns out the battery is not enought do you have any solutions?
Try 6 AA cells in series, those 9V batteries are weak. Or use a 5V power pack if portability is a requirement else a wall wart if not.
Could you please post a rough schematic of your wiring. It is difficult to interpret the connections from your picture.
That picture is useless to the helpers!!!
It is not enough. Use a suitable power brick or 6AA battery pack.
I don't think 9V Batteries are insufficient. 9V should work. I think there is either a problem with the circuit or he has used an old used up battery.
I haven't found a good program to make the compicated ones and I cant draw but if it helps-the 3 LED's are in 13,12,11 and thogether in 1 GND. 7-segment display is pluget in from 2-8 and into its own ground, motor is pluget into its own ground and A0
OK thanks I hoped that somthing else was wrong but I'll try to get a moer beefy power suply THANKS!
How is the battery connected?
Sounds bad.
And this doesn't make it sound better.
to ground and vin or 5V im not sure whats the differance
how shoul it be than I'll take any help
What do you mean? There is a huge difference!!
Its a 9V battery! Connecting it to 5V will fry your board! Thats why its not working you must have damaged the board.
If its damaged get a new board or if you haven't damaged it connect it to vin and gnd or use a snap connector like this to connect it
Im using the snap connector and everything still works as I should. I'll make sure I plu git into vin but for now that hasnt worked
have you plugged it into 5V before?
Yup, but the problem isn't the voltage, it's about the energy stored in those "old-style" 9 V batteries. Use Ohm's laws to understand the difference. ![]()
No I thought of doing it cause it wasnt working
so is it working now?
just the 3 LED's it works fine but if I try to add the display everything breaks
You shouldn't power any motor from arduino digital/analog pins.
