If what you call a potentiometer is the one marked by the red circle, you are totally wrong.
This is an adjustable core transformer (T1).
Probably in this module this core is responsible for the tuning frequency.
By moving the core (this one with the slit), you changed the tuning frequency. Adjustment is very sensitive.
Try to make small adjustments by watching the distance result,
But do not use metal screwdrivers to make this adjustment as the metal of the screwdriver will change the reading result during the adjustment.
Use some polymer or wood screwdriver.

Se o que você chama de potenciômetro é o que está marcado pelo circulo vermelho, você está totalmente engando.
Isto é um transformador de núcleo ajustável (T1).
Provavelmente neste módulo este núcleo è responsável pela frequência de sintonia.
Ao mover o o núcleo( este com a fenda), você alterou a frequência de sintonia. O Ajuste é muito sensível.
Tente fazer pequenos ajustes observando o resultado de distancia,
Mas não use chaves de fendas metálicas para fazer este ajuste pois o metal da chave de fenda vai modificar o resultado da leitura durante o ajuste .
Use alguma chave de fenda de polímero ou madeira.
