Protection Circuit Module Simple Question

For this product in the details. It states "Over discharge detection voltage" vs "Over discharge release voltage" -- any idea what the difference is? I simply want to use this to cut the power to arduino before LIPO gets run too low and hurts the lipo.

The circuit detects some parameter but takes action after delay time.
Each parameter may or may mot br confifured or may be hard coded. Can't tell which.

The difference is hysteresis. There is one voltage level to detect a bad state and turn the loader/load off, and another level when normal operation can be restored.

If the OP knew what hysteresis is would they be asking the question ?

"Hysteresis comparator

A hysteresis comparator is operated by applying a positive feedback * to the comparator. The potential difference between the High and Low output voltages and the feedback resistor are adjusted to change the voltage that is taken as a comparison reference to the input voltage for the +IN terminal."

Hysteresis as it applies to a BMS is the difference
between the time the circuit detects a high or low error level and the time it responds to it.

Without it, the circuit would oscillate because when a load is removed from a battery the battery voltage rises to the no load level , which is above the over discharge level so it would reconnect the battery, pulling the voltage back down to below the over discharge level causing the circuit to
reconnect the battery , starting the whole cycle over again. Hysteresis prevents that.

The battery remains disconnected until the voltage
reaches the charged level (8.4V) and stays connected until it reaches the over discharge level
(7.4V)

If the BMS can engage the charger at 7.4V it would disconnect it at 8.4V.

Hi @k1234567891234532
this circuit you indicated controls up to 2 model 18650 batteries.
It uses a CI equivalent to the DW01 2 CIs equivalent to the FS8205.

Despite indicating that it has a pin to connect an NTC temperature sensor, the resistor R5 that should be in series with the sensor does not exist on the board.
